A Surprise Proposal at Wildwood Park

This was a day I had been dreaming of for forever! Madie & Alex are dear friends of my husband & I's and when Alex came to us about proposing to Madie I knew that this had to be epic! So while the three of us were sitting down for dinner we whipped up a plan that Madie would never see coming!

I knew that there would be some complications and one of those would be the amount of advance planning that would need to go into this. For a little reference, Madie is an amazingly talented makeup artist and has done makeup for me for years! But because Madie is so amazingly talented, she is constantly booked up, especially on the weekends! So how would we manage to get around that? And what would make for a beautiful proposal?

So here's the story! I contacted Madie and had told her that I had won a giveaway with The Picnic Soiree. The "giveaway" was for a picnic with your significant other & was going to be a photoshoot for the new issue of Arkansas Bride! I told Madie that I needed her to do my makeup for that day which ensured that she would not be busy with another client. Once Madie was locked in, I went to work securing and explaining the details to all the vendors involved. One week prior to the "shoot," I contacted Madie and told her I had contracted COVID and that I would no longer be able to attend. I had explained that The Picnic Soiree could not reschedule this shoot since it was so close to the date and that they would allow me to find someone to take my place. It took some convincing from Alex, but she said YES!

So jumping to the day - my husband, Grant, & I picked up flowers, coordinated with the amazingly talented photographer, Allie Atkission, and prepared to set up a beautiful picnic with The Picnic Soiree!

Once everything was set up, we found a hiding spot for Allie and Grant & I quickly ran away so that Madie wouldn't see our vehicle parked anywhere near Wildwood Park! And then that's when the magic happened -

This day was everything that I had hoped it would be for Alex & Madie! It went off without a hitch and I can only accredit that to the amazing team that helped pull this together:

Since their engagement, Alex & Madie have secured a venue and locked down a wedding date! We are so excited to celebrate them on April 29, 2023! Here's to the future Mr. & Mrs. Massey!
